This may have been a result of the fact that the show was coming to an end, but it was not consistent with the entirety of the show. Towards the end of the season, the show began to take a turn to a more dramatic show. My final issue with the show came in the third and last season. Still, the show retained the main three characters, and some other team members that developed nicely by the end of the show. Whether these character changes were a result of actor contracts or just to keep the show fresh, I feel that it was harmful to the show to keep switching out supporting characters. Radon was removed from the show completely, and Mary-Joe played relatively no role in the final season of the show. Before anything was able to develop, both Radon and Mary-Joe were no longer main characters by the third season. She also fits well in the show, and began a storyline with Alex, as they had history before college. Moreover, the second season saw the addition of Sammy’s sister, Mary-Joe. While I feel that Radon found his place in the show rather well, it took time out of the new season to develop the new character, while Craig was already well established. Taking his place in the show was new starting quarterback Radon Rendell, an extremely cocky freshman. However, the second season started with a brief remark by the coach that his star running back decided to play for Georgetown, and nothing else was mentioned about Craig. Craig and his girlfriend played a rather sizable part in the first season, and I thought they would last the entirety of the show. The first season saw a star running back, Craig Shiloh, playing a nice compliment to Alex, who was more than content in his role as backup. First off, each season loses a main character, and this drove me nuts. While I usually don’t take comedy shows seriously enough to find too many things wrong with it, the problems with Blue Mountain State kind of hit me in the face. Usually, I don’t focus on the negative points of shows in reviews, but since this show came so highly recommended and praised, I found myself very critical of the show. I’d say the humor in the show is primed for a male audience, but still incorporates some lead females throughout the show, which in my opinion makes it a good show for all college students. Therefore, the show is very relatable to just about anyone that has played on a team or been part of a group for anything. Not necessarily the exact things that happened, but the camaraderie and joking that goes on between a team. My experience on teams in high school largely mirror what I have seen in the show. They throw gigantic weekly parties, usually after big wins. The team has their own house, called the goat house, and most of the team lives in the mansion. As a football team, the guys behave almost as if they were in a fraternity. The best part of the show is that it is very relatable and funny. Also, Thad Castle plays a big role in the show as the ultracompetitive and serious, yet goofy, captain of the team. His boyhood friend Sammy comes along for the adventure as the mascot of the team. Mainly the show follows Alex Moran, the second string quarterback at the beginning of the show. BMS is a show about a college football team, allegedly based on Penn State, and their antics. I also happened to have a lot of time on my hands so I started to watch Blue Mountain State. We’re talking parodies of everything from Silence of the Lambs to Training Day in digestible, and at times surprisingly high-brow, half-hour bites.Towards the end of my senior year in high school, I was getting very excited about coming to college.
